The Entrance Hall

Crane often sketched and painted at Rode and there is a small collection of his early watercolours in the house.

The entrance hall at Rode is a wide, welcoming space, reinterpreted by Darcy Braddell in 1927 from John Hope’s Neo-Classical design. Portraits immediately introduce visitors to the Baker Wilbraham family and there is a fine selection of furniture, porcelain and watercolours for visitors to view.
