The Kitchen Garden is surrounded by a high mellow brick wall and is divided into four sections. It contains an enormous variety of fruit, vegetables and flowers and is worked almost entirely without the use of chemicals.
The gardener lives in the cottage on the south facing wall, which is covered in honeysuckle and roses. It is in this garden that the world champion gooseberry was grown in 1993!
